Genshin Impact 5.1 leaks are hinting at a story twist that has me surprised – not because I did not expect it at all, but because I did not assume something of the sort would occur so early on in the Natlan arc. Version 5.1 is the next major patch for HoYoverse’s action RPG, and it will continue the main Archon Quests set in the Nation of Pyro. So far, the Traveler has arrived in Natlan and started to better understand the conflict that the region is facing, while making new allies out of the Natlan characters in Genshin Impact.
Version 5.1 will likely continue to explore the Traveler and their allies’ efforts to help save Natlan from impending doom while they fend off the threats posed by both the Abyss and the Fatui, who have already made their presence known in the region. For reference, the Fatui Harbinger known as Capitano faced Mavuika in the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, opposing her claim to the Pyro Gnosis, but had to leave after being wounded. Capitano’s plans in Genshin Impact are still uncertain, but Version 5.1 may provide some answers if some recent leaks are to be believed.
The Traveler May Make Fatui Allies In Genshin Impact 5.1
Some Fatui Harbingers Have Been Allies In The Past
This is because players may make allies out of the Fatui as early as Version 5.1. According to information provided by the leaker known as HomDGCat, which was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, there may be friendly Fatui units in Version 5.1, aiding the player in combat. The leaker cites that these Fatui are friendly units presented with green HP bars and will fight unspecified enemies alongside the player. Furthermore, the leaker says that some Fatui Skirmishers will be friendly in Genshin Impact 5.1, though they mention that the reasons why they are friendly are unknown.

The Fatui are, traditionally, an enemy group in the game. Players have faced them, virtually, across every major Nation of Teyvat so far and their plans, ordered by the Tsaritsa, have mostly been in opposition to the Traveler’s own plans. On the other hand, however, the Traveler has made allies out of Fatui Harbingers in the past, from Childe to Arlecchino (and the former Harbinger Wanderer, though friendship was only crafted once he left the group). As such, seeing the Traveler have Fatui as allies in Genshin Impact ’s Natlan region is not entirely surprising to me.
Alliance With The Fatui May Indicate The Abyss’ Escalation In Genshin Impact 5.1
Despite Differences, The Goals For Capitano & The Traveler’s Allies Are The Same
The reason it is not surprising is that it is very clear that Capitano’s plans also involve saving Natlan from its doom, even if through an alternative method that opposes the one sought out by Mavuika, the Pyro Archon. In essence, the end goal for both Capitano and the Traveler’s allies is the same, so an alliance to save Natlan and fend off the Abyss seems only natural. To me, the flabbergasting aspect of the leak is how early on this alliance will seemingly be forged. Archon Quests in Natlan are occurring in Genshin Impact’s Versions 5.0, 5.1, and 5.3.

I would expect the Traveler to make Fatui allies in the final Natlan patch, Version 5.3, to save the Nation of Pyro and conclude the story arc. However, if the leak is accurate and the alliance is forged as early as Version 5.1, there may be much more in store for the story of Natlan in Version 5.3. The threat to the Nation’s existence may be much larger and having the alliance forged in an early story twist may allow more time for this threat to pose a larger risk for the region and the characters in Genshin Impact 5.1.
This threat, of course, is likely the Abyss since Natlan has been engulfed in a war against the mysterious faction for centuries. If the Fatui and the Travler fight side-by-side in Version 5.1, it is quite likely that the Abyss will start representing a more active incursion in the patch.
Otherwise, the rumored friendly Fatui units in HomDGCat’s leaks would not have anyone to actually fight against.

As reliable as they may seem, these leaks about the Fatui allies in Version 5.1 should be considered with caution. Not only may they be entirely incorrect but they could be changed or postponed to however HoYoverse sees fit to release its content. Nevertheless, all signs point to humanity in Natlan uniting its forces to take down the Abyss, regardless of their worldly alliances. Seeing how Capitano cares for Natlan, it should not come as a surprise that he would dispatch his forces to help the Traveler – it’s just surprising this plot twist may occur in Genshin Impact 5.1.
